Transmit power and antenna gain are informed presets, not datasheet values. Consumer WiFi vendors publish PHY rates, not conducted power, so these two figures come from a documented, deliberately conservative rule instead of a spec sheet — they exist to keep the Coverage Mapper and Channel Advisor honest, not to describe this exact unit down to the milliwatt.

A moderate amount of company on this band. 1/6/11 are the only channels that do not overlap each other; channel 6 is the middle one and is less crowded than the factory-default ends.
Use 20 MHz here no matter what your router offers: 40 MHz on 2.4 GHz eats two thirds of the band and leaves no clean channel for anyone, including you. The channel itself is an educated guess — we cannot scan your neighbours from a web page, so if the change does not help, try the other channels in the set. A real scan is what the desktop scanner is for.

Where to sign in: Usually printed on a sticker on the router itself, often 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1
Menu names are shown as they appear in the router’s English interface — your router may show them in your own language.
- Find the sticker on the router: it normally carries the admin address and the default admin password (which is not the WiFi password).
- Open that address in a browser and sign in.
- Look for a menu called Wireless, WLAN, or Wi-Fi, then an Advanced or Expert sub-page — the channel controls are almost never on the first screen.
- Set Channel to the recommended channel for each band, and Channel Width / Bandwidth to the recommended width if the field exists.
- Save or Apply, and wait for the radios to restart.
- If the fields are missing entirely, see the note below before spending an evening looking for them.
Many ISP-issued routers are locked: the provider removes the channel and width controls from the firmware, and no amount of hunting will find them. If that is your situation you have two real options — ask the ISP to change the channel from their end, which they can usually do remotely, or ask for bridge / modem-only mode and put your own router behind it. Do not flash third-party firmware onto a leased router; it is normally a contract violation and it is always your money if it dies.
Menu names drift between firmware versions. If a label here does not match what you see, look for the nearest equivalent — the two fields you want are always called something close to “Channel” and “Channel Width” (or “Bandwidth”).
Placement notes
- This model uses smaller internal antennas, so placement matters more than usual: keep it open, off the floor, and out of a cabinet.
- Two radios, 2.4 and 5 GHz — put the router where 5 GHz can reach the rooms you actually use; 2.4 GHz will cover the rest of the home regardless.
